Education courses

Teaching can be one of the most satisfying and rewarding careers. The School of Education at JCU offers world-class teacher education and has forged dynamic partnerships with schools throughout northern Queensland. JCU offers excellent support for teaching students including accessible teaching staff, micro teaching and computer laboratories and excellent library and research resources.

The Bachelor of Education is available in a range of specialisations. The Graduate Diploma of Education prepares existing degree holders for teaching careers.

JCU’s RATEP program (a community based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teacher education program) operates around Queensland. The program has successfully trained over 130 Indigenous teachers within their home communities. Study is completed though a diverse range of technologies and students complete professional experience in a variety of places, including schools in their local communities.
