Over the past five years, JCU academics have been awarded 36 national awards for teaching excellence from the Australian Teaching and Learning Council and in 2012, Professor Jim Burnell (professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at JCU) was named Australia’s Lecturer of the Year.
