Description |
This striking mushroom has a large, fleshy cap which is initially convex and umbonate at centre, becoming flatter with age, 10-15 cm diameter, numerous brown scales becoming dense near apex, background buff to a whitish colour; gills white, spore print white. Stem to 27 cm long and 2 cm diam, hollow at maturity, bears a double ring collar-like, movable. Mushroom stands 25-30 cm above ground level. |
