Description |
Several species of Austroboletus have been recorded from the Mareeba-Cairns area where they are chiefly associated with eucalypt dominated communities, The large thick cap, to 6 cm diameter is usually coloured; the stem or stipe is thick to 1.5 cm diameter and the surface is coarsely reticulate. The pore surface is often whitish becoming pink at maturity, the spores are usually pitted and the spore prints vary from pinkish through to purplish-pink. |
