Description |
This mushroom is one of several species where the cap becomes scaly. These separate giving the shaggy appearance, hence the common name. The cap diameter is about 10 cm. The tubes and hence the pores are usually exposed below the body of the cap, they are yellowish-green and turn blue when damaged. The stalk has a distinct pinkish tinge. Found in Eucalypt woodland, frequently on decaying wood but sometimes on soil. This one collected at Herberton. |
