Description
This small herb has simple, alternate, linear to narrowly lanceolate leaves. Flowers are solitary, petals chiefly blue or mauve, the lower petal is much larger than the other two and resembles a spade. Capsule to 9 mm long. A similar species with yellow flowers is H. stellarioides
