Description
This member of the grass family grows in clumps and spreads by rhizomes. The stems are hollow except at the nodes, the long thin leaves are shed from the lower parts of the stem. Take care when planting bamboo as it can be invasive – preferable to keep most cultivars and species in containers if in the garden.
