Description
This species from central America is now grown throughout the tropics and subtropics because of the colourful flowers. There are many colour forms available. Most varieties are deciduous when flowering and the flowers are borne in clusters at the end of the succulent branchlets. The flowers are pollinated by moths. Latex present, it may blister sensitive skins.
