Description
A large tree with bipinnate leaves the last pair of leaflets larger than the rest, leaflets are rounded or acute at the apex; pod to 1.5 cm wide. The pink flowers are borne on the upper side of the spreading branches. Several similar species are Cassia grandis with a pod to 3 cm wide, leaflets are blunt at the apex, and the Red cassia which is a hybrid between C. grandis and C. javanica. Cassia nodosa is regarded as a synonym of C. javanica.
