2012 Women's Academic Promotions Writing Workshop – Cairns & Singapore
The Director of Equity and Student Engagement, Mr Sean Johnson, invites female academics considering academic promotion to attend a Women's Academic Promotions Writing Workshop. This workshop is part of a program being developed to ensure that gender equity at JCU receives the prominence that is warranted.
In light of the significance of written applications in the promotion process, including the opportunity to provide information about relevant personal circumstances, the workshop will focus on assisting female academics prepare their application by documenting all relevant achievements in the context of their unique career path.
The workshop will also include a videolink presentation from JCU Townsville by Dr Jackie Wolstenholme, Research Services Librarian.
During the workshop, facilitators will provide information about the academic promotions process and highlight their personal experience of being on the promotions panel. Attendees will also be able to submit questions to the facilitators prior to the workshop for discussion.
Participants are asked to prepare for the workshops by downloading the promotion application form and considering the information required for each section, they are also encouraged to submit questions they would like addressed by the facilitators during the workshop and to bring along their application for feedback.

Videolink to D01-01 Singapore between 2.30pm-3.30pm (12.30pm-1.30pm Singapore time) for the Library presentation and first hour of the workshop.
Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the Workshop
