The Federal Government is currently deciding the fate of the Coral Sea but their proposed marine park leaves 90% of its coral reef unprotected. The "Protect Our Coral Sea" campaign aims for the establishment of a large, world-class, highly protected marine park in the Coral Sea that will provide a safe haven for marine life and recognises its historic significance.
Mariasole Bianco graduated from the University of Genoa with a Bachelor of Marine Biology and has a Master in Applied Science majoring in Protected Area Management (from James Cook University). Mariasole is the marine campaigner for the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre (CAFNEC) and is currently following the Protect Our Coral Sea campaign.
