Will POP and IMAP be supported in Exchange Online?

POP and IMAP will not be supported. However these protocols will no longer be needed by the vast majority of staff. Exchange Online stores all your mail/calendar/contacts/task information in an .OST file which is synchronised - by your supported email client - with your Exchange Online account information. This solution allows you to work offline. Your supported email client will resynchronise your email/calendar/contacts/tasks when your computer is again online (ie accessing the internet) back up to Exchange Online. In effect you will have your email in two locations - on your computer and in Exchange Online. This approach combines the advantages of both POP and IMAP.
