Troubleshooting
Eduroam doesn't show up in the available network list?
First make sure that you are in a wireless supported location. Not all areas on campus have wireless support so check the map for Townsville or Cairns to see if your location is supported.
There are no networks to choose from
Click the plus button (+)
Click Show Networks,
Click eduroam,
Enter JCU username as username@jcu.edu.au and password,
For 802.1X select WPA: eduroam or automatic,
Tick Remember this Network, and then click Add
I get a message asking me to “Verify Certificate” when I try to connect to Eduroam. Should I be worried?
Don't be worried. It doesn't mean anything bad is about to happen to your computer or your personal details. Click Continue to proceed with connection. There is a system out on the internet which allows companies to pay for "signed" certificates, essentially verifying that they are indeed the company / service they claim to be. JCU does not currently subscribe to any of these paid certificates so you may encounter messages like this when accessing some of JCU's online services.
