The Mabo Library at the Townsville campus is undergoing a transformation!

In a library redevelopment project funded by the University and the Federal Government's Better Universities Renewal Funding Initiative, students and staff of the University will gain more vibrant and contemporary learning spaces starting with major changes to the ground floor in the Mabo Library that will include:

  • new southern entry and exit – now open

  • new service desk for Library and Learning Advisors – now open

  • new Learning Commons area – now open

  • new consultation rooms – now open

  • new Assistive Technology lab – now open

  • New café – coming soon

  • 24 hour Information Commons (student study & computing lounge) – coming soon

  • a greater variety of technology enabled and collaborative study spaces

  • 3 new ilecture spaces – University centrally timetabled and bookable teaching spaces

Note colours and some designs may change.

The Library will remain open during all of the work and services will continue to be available from InfoHelp and Lending .

We expect that the project will be completed by July 2012.
