  • Arrow Energy Indigenous Scholarship Program

    The Arrow Energy Indigenous Scholarship Program will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to gain qualifications at JCU and provide employment pathways. It comprises two scholarship types, The Arrow Energy Resource Sector Indigenous Scholarship and The Arrow Energy Indigenous Scholarship. Information Sheet

    Open to: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students enrolling at JCU.

    Value: $10,000 each

  • Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation

    Open to: students who identify as Australian South Sea Islanders as defined in the 2000 Queensland Government Recognition Statement of the Australian South Sea islander Community.

    Value: $5,000 per year (full-time students) or $2,500 per year (part-time students)

    Closing Date: Early February 2013.

    The application form is available from the Multicultural Affairs of Queensland website.

  • Commonwealth Scholarships for Indigenous students

    Open to: Indigenous students who undertake an undergraduate course of study or a Tertiary Access Course at JCU. The Commonwealth Scholarships (CS) Program aims to assist Indigenous students have better access to and increased participation in higher education. Students need to apply to JCU directly.
    Value: In 2013 from $1,234 up to $12,067.

    Closing Date: 2013 Early Offer Round - 30 November 2012.

  • David Hastings Bursary

    Open to: students with a physical disability or other impairment who are full-time undergraduate students whose normal domicile is to the North of the 22nd degree of South latitude in the State of Queensland (above a line from St. Lawrence through Muttaburra)

  • Faculty of Law, Business & Creative Arts Pro-Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships

    Open to: full time students enrolling in courses at either the Cairns or Townsville.

    Value: four scholarships to valued at $5000 each.

  • George Roberts CBE Bursary

    Open to: students who have been residents at George Roberts Hall for at least one full academic year, and who have achieved (at least) a credit average in their first year undergraduate subjects.

    Value: payment towards full board accommodation expenses for one academic year at George Roberts Hall.

  • Global Voices

    Global Voices is now calling for applications to be part of its funded youth delegations to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, as well as its Nairobi Study Tour on Sustainable Development.

    Open to: Students aged between 18 and 30.

    Value: Cost of all flights, accommodation, visas, transfers, insurance, registration fees and most meals.

    Closing Date: 3 March 2013

  • Hugh Alexander Grierson Trust Bursary

    Open to: full-time domestic Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students of the University.

    Value: $5,000 in money, books, equipment or payment for residential accommodation.

  • JCU Access Fund

    JCU Access Scholarships and JCU Access Bursaries

    Open to: full-time students who are in their first year of study.

    Value: $5,000 or $1,500 for one year.

    JCU Support Grants

    Open to: full-time students who are in their second year of study.

    Value: $500 JCU Bookshop credit.

  • Lynn Kratcha Memorial Rural Bursary

    Open to: students who are enrolled full-time in the second year of MBBS, demonstrate an internest in rural medicine and are able to undertake an international rural elective.

    Closing Date: End of Week 1 in Study Period 2 each year.

  • Port of Townsville Limited Scholarship

    Open to: students who have been ordinarily resident within a local government area forming part of the Mount Isa - Townsville Economic Zone (MITEZ) and are enrolled (or will be enrolled)full-time in an undergraduate degree in a discipline likely to contribute to improved management in the mining, metallurgical or maritime transport and logistics industries in north or northwest Queensland.

    Value: $5,000 for one year.
