Adding or withdrawing subjects
Other than those studying at JCU Brisbane or offshore campuses, JCU students manage their subject enrolments and withdrawals online through eStudent.
You can enrol in subjects for the current calendar year up to the end of week one of that study period.
You can enrol in advance in any subject/s offered in this calendar year, or from November/December for the following year. Watch your JCU email for advice on when enrolment opens for the following year.
You can withdraw online from subjects for each study period up to two weeks before the end date of the Study Period. You must read the warning messages in eStudent as financial penalties may apply – see below.
If you are unable to change your subjects online, or wish to enrol after week one of the study period, contact:
-
Townsville: Student Centre
-
Cairns: Student Centre
Will I have a financial penalty?
If you want to withdraw from a subject, you are advised to consider the census date (after which you must pay for the subject/s in which you are enrolled) and the last date to withdraw without academic penalty (after which you will also receive a result of 'fail' for the subject/s).
International students
Students from the United States of America in receipt of U.S. Federal Aid MUST contact the Federal Aid Administrator at the International Student Centre prior to making enrolment changes as study mode restrictions apply.
Please refer to the Tuition Fee Policy for International Students, provided to you as part of your offer, for details on the refund policy. If you totally withdraw from a course, a written notice of withdrawal stating reasons should be sent to the International Student Centre. The date of the written notification is significant as it impacts on tuition fee liability and any sub sequent refunds.
