Stuart McKenzie

Bachelor of Science (Marine Biology/Zoology)

Exchange @ University of Miami, Florida, USA

University of Miami

Facilities were incredible. My favourite was the Gym. Accommodation was good. Had air con which worked well. I enjoyed having a roommate and two suite mates.

Studying at University of Miami

The subjects were good and interesting. JCU has a better Marine Bio campus but Miami’s class rooms and University as a whole is a lot better.

Living in USA

Lifestyle is relaxed and great. Americans are very nice. Very cheap to live.

What were the most rewarding aspects of the exchange experience?

Meeting new people, experiencing a large private university, travelling and having plenty of good times and unforgettable memories.

Did you experience any difficulties?

Not really. Maybe a little language cos it’s Miami and they have a lot Mexican and Spanish people.

What advice would you give to a JCU student going to your host university?

DO IT! You will love it. Plan ahead. Bring plenty of spending money and make the most of your time over there!
